Plant Operators:
at our
Fincastle and Grassy Lake Plant locations.
What’s a Plant Operator got to do?
This is a roll your sleeves up - hands-on role to support the day-to-day operation of the seed processing and production lines. You will gain experience in receiving, storing, and shipping seed and grain, as well as general facility maintenance in a safe, effective and result oriented manner.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys physical work, has a mechanical aptitude, works well as part of a small team, and takes pride in doing the job right.
- Site Operations
Operate, maintain and prepare the seed cleaning facility to receive and process seed in a safe, efficient and result oriented manner.
- Housekeeping
Adhere to all necessary housekeeping practices required to maintain the facilities in a clean and hygienic condition
- Maintenance
Perform minor maintenance repair and/or project-based work to ensure peak operational performance of the production facility.
- Safety Management
Adhere to work and safety instructions by taking an active role in contributing to a safety culture and clearly demonstrate the ability to find and implement solutions that help be more efficient and safe.
- Team
A genuine effort to work co-operatively, taking personal accountability for creating and supporting a team environment and showing a genuine respect for coworkers and customers to encourage an environment of mutual trust.
- Food Safety & Quality Management
Contribute to the development of a food and seed safety culture and adheres to processes and procedures, and directions in relation to food safety and quality management.
- Administration & Reporting
Reporting information regarding work required, preventative maintenance issues and completion of Work Order and related documentation.
To be successful you will require:
- At a minimum you should have completed High School and hold a valid Alberta Class 5 Drivers License.
- Be fluent in the English language - demonstrated ability to speak, read and write.
- Basic computer literacy required and an attention to detail when performing administrative tasks
Your experience includes
- Working at heights either on a ladder or on an elevated work platform.
- Working with different types of machinery, completing changeovers and equipment maintenance demonstrating a mechanical aptitude.
- Handling industrial chemicals and manufacturing process experience would be highly desired

Hours of Work and Shift Cycles
- This role is primarily worked on day shift.
- Ability to work rotating day and night shift schedule during the Fall and Spring when operationally required, employees may be scheduled to work 10‑hour continuous shifts.
Offers of employment will require a medical, police and drivers license checks.
