Position Overview

The Warehouse / Inside Sales Representative is a hybrid role responsible for supporting both warehouse operations and inside sales activities. This position plays a key role in delivering exceptional customer service, managing inventory and orders, supporting branch sales efforts, and ensuring efficient warehouse operations. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in both office and warehouse environments and will contribute to the overall success of the branch through teamwork, attention to detail, and a strong customer-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Customer Service

- Actively service existing customer accounts through phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Prospect and develop new business opportunities and customer relationships.
- Create, process, and amend sales orders accurately and efficiently.




- Prepare professional quotations and provide pricing, product availability, and product recommendations.
- Work closely with outside sales representatives to support customer needs and sales initiatives.
- Learn and promote new product lines and solutions.
- Understand customer requirements and provide effective product solutions.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Assist with purchasing and inventory management activities.
- Continuously expand product knowledge and industry expertise.

Warehouse Operations

- Work safely and comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
- Receive, unload, and load flatbed trailers, dry vans, and containers.
- Verify shipment counts and inspect incoming materials.
- Tag, identify, tally, and stock products within the warehouse.
- Pull, package, stage, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
- Maintain warehouse organization and cleanliness.
- Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely.
- Perform both bulk material handling and piece-picking of lumber and sheet goods.
- Assist with inventory control and accuracy.
- Serve as a backup warehouse team member as operational needs require.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, customer service, inside sales, or a related role.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good math skills and ability to perform basic calculations.
- Basic to intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and business systems.




- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Positive, proactive, and energetic attitude.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and maintain a strong sense of urgency.
- Reliable, dependable, and trustworthy.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs (32 kg).

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in the lumber, building materials, distribution, or construction products industry.
- Forklift experience and/or certification.
- Experience with purchasing, inventory management, quoting, and CRM systems.
- Ability to read and use measuring tools, including tape measures.
- Familiarity with modern warehouse practices and inventory control methods.

Reporting Relationship

This position reports directly to the Branch Manager.

Work Environment

This role requires a combination of office-based sales activities and hands-on warehouse work. Employees should be comfortable working in a warehouse environment, operating material handling equipment, and engaging directly with customers and coworkers throughout the day.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00-$52,000.00 per year
