Chapple, Galbraith Surveyors is based in Port Carling, Ontario. We provide legal, topographic and construction land surveying services in the Muskoka region of Ontario. The majority of the work is waterfront lots on the many lakes in the region.
We are looking for an experienced Survey Technician / Draftsperson to join us immediately for work both in the field and in the office calculating and preparing legal and topographic survey plans.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate land survey equipment including Leica Total Stations, GPS receivers etc. during field operations to complete various legal, topographical and construction related projects.
- Preliminary calculations and drafting of data collected using MicroSurvey for the preparation of survey plans. Experience with drafting and calculations in the office is an asset, but not required. Willingness to learn these skills is required.
- Valid Ontario drivers license.
- Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful completion of a Survey Technology program or equivalent experience.
- Experience with land surveying and equipment (Leica, MicroSurvey etc)
- Strong mathematical and communication skills
This job takes place outdoors over rugged terrain. It therefore demands a certain degree of physical strength as carrying survey equipment and tools is a requirement. As we are located in Muskoka, we also work on islands, which requires the loading and unloading of boats in order to access these properties.
Pay is competitive and experience based.
