1. Maintains knowledge of, supports and adheres to the home’s vision, mission, values, philosophy of care, policies and procedures
2. Performs tasks such as prepares food, operates commercial and residential kitchen equipment, sets tables and trays, serves meals, washes and sanitizes cookware and dinnerware, cleans and sanitizes dining areas, work areas and equipment, receives, stores and distributes dietary food and supplies, collects garbage, compost and recyclables and places in designated receptacle
3. Provides nutrition services in accordance with dietary department’s policies and procedures, established food service standards and residents’ nutrition care plan.
4. Assists residents, staff and patrons with questions, comments and complaints with compassion
5. Promotes and maintains safety of residents at all times
6. Orientates new employees
7.
Ensures compliance with food safety standards
8. Protects own health and health of others by adopting safe work practices and reporting unsafe conditions immediately as legislated by the Nova Scotia Occupational Health and Safety Act
9. Participates in safety and quality assurance programs by providing constructive ideas and solutions to problems and challenges
10. Other related duties as directed by food service supervisor or delegate
Pay: From $20.48 per hour
