Position: Hotel Manager and Cook - COUPLE

Location: Nunavut

Reports to: General Manager

Position Summary:

Reporting to the General Manager, the Hotel Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the hotel and kitchen through the hiring and training of local staff, payroll administration, day-to-day business communication, marketing and promotion, financial records and reporting and other duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the fast-paced day-to-day operations of the Hotel and restaurant ensuring a positive experience for all guests and customers . Supervision of the Hotel and restaurant staff is required to ensure that customers experience a superior experience .

- Ensures Inns North standards of cleanliness, amenities and facility maintenance are always maintained including in the office, kitchen and general workplace. Delegate clean-up activities as required;
- Effectively organizes and oversees all hotel and kitchen duties including managing the reservation system, all filing (guestroom reservations, meeting room bookings, catering, lease information, invoices, statements etc.), ordering and inventory of supplies.
- Preparing and sending , preparing, and sending customer invoices, and basic office procedures.
- Coordinates and provides Airport Shuttle service for guests, along with other management.
- Maintains appropriate staffing levels , hiring, training , delivering corrective action and dismissing if needed ;
- Provides training and ongoing coaching; supervises and assigns duties and responsibilities to employees in the performance of their duties and to ensure deadlines are met;
- Coordinate all maintenance and repairs
- Conducts day end closing procedures and reconcile cash and reports as necessary. Reports all shortages or reconciliation issues ;
- Ensures daily deposits are made;
- Ensures efficient organization of meal planning; including inventory management.




- Processes all incoming and outgoing transfers, invoices and charges; Ensures optimal customer relations by responding effectively to customer requests;
- Ensures the accurate recording and organization of payroll records including timesheets, schedules and related payroll files and employee records;
- ensures kitchen requirements are maintained based on based on occupancy;
- Schedules housekeeping staffing requirements based on occupancy;
- Performs other duties as required to ensure the effective operation of the hotel and kitchen operation;
- Other duties as assigned .

Qualifications:

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in all aspects of hotel and kitchen management
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
- Ability to train, supervise and motivate staff members
- Proficient in application software – ideally Microsoft Office and POS
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
- Physical abilities with no limitations
- Valid Drivers Licence
- Protected Food Handling certification
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Solid understanding of co-operative principles and philosophies
- Knowledge of Marketing and Promotions
- Asset: maintenance experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
