The Procurement Coordinator reports to the Vice-President of Sales and works closely with Sales, Production, Transportation, Quality, Distribution Centres, Grower partners, suppliers, and other internal teams. The Procurement Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the company has the right product, at the right time, at the right quality, and at the right cost. The role is responsible for the planning, coordination and administration of sourcing activities from Grower partners and external suppliers, supporting inventory flow and operational execution.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Grower partners and suppliers to source product accurately and on time to support Production and Sales requirements, while considering customer specifications, availability, quality, and cost
- Continuously monitor inventory, sales, customer demand, and production requirements to make informed purchasing and product transfer decisions
- Plan and proactively manage inbound delivery schedules and loads with Production, Sales, and Transportation to support efficient operations
- Maintain accurate procurement records, documentation, system updates, and vendor information, including vendor approval and onboarding requirements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Grower partners, suppliers, and vendors, addressing product, quality, scheduling, service, and reliability concerns
- Respond quickly to supply and operational issues, identify alternate sourcing opportunities, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Monitor market conditions and supply risks and make recommendations that support product availability, quality, cost efficiency, and minimize disruptions and waste
- Ensure products sourced meet customer, Production, and quality specifications and work with Quality and Distribution Centres to resolve claims and product concerns
- Communicate procurement updates and changes clearly and work collaboratively across departments to support effective operational execution
- Demonstrate solid organization, urgency, accountability, initiative, and adaptability; identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, efficiency, communication, and accuracy
- Due to the nature of the role and business, availability will be required after regular work hours to manage situations that may arise
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of procurement/supply chain or related business experience
- Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong Microsoft 365 and procurement systems skills
- Demonstrated initiative, accountability, problem-solving, and commitment to continuous improvement
- Supply Chain Management Professional designation considered an asset
Hours: Monday to Friday, with some after hours and weekends to deal with issues
Salary: $60,000 to $65,000
Expected Start Date: As Soon As Possible
Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
