Overview
Join our vibrant early childhood education team as an Assistant Childcare Director (In-Ratio & Staff Leader), where you will play a pivotal role in fostering a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children. In this dynamic position, you will lead classroom activities, ensure compliance with staffing ratios, and support our dedicated team of caregivers and teachers. Duties
- Assist in maintaining appropriate child-to-staff ratios by supervising staff and ensuring compliance with licensing standards
- Lead classroom activities that promote early childhood development, including educational play, social interactions, and hands-on learning experiences
- Support staff in implementing curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education best practices
- Provide mentorship and guidance to caregivers and teachers to foster a cooperative team environment
- Ensure health, safety, and cleanliness protocols are consistently followed within the classroom and shared spaces
- Collaborate with the Childcare Director to plan staff schedules, monitor classroom performance, and address any operational challenges
- Engage with children directly through caregiving activities, including feeding, diapering, and emotional support, especially for children with disabilities or special needs
Qualifications
- Proven classroom experience working with young children in early childhood education settings
- Level 3 early childhood educator
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable
- Strong background in teaching or caregiving roles within licensed childcare programs
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices in caregiving
- Ability to lead by example, motivate staff, and foster a positive team atmosphere
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and families
- Certification or training in early childhood education or related fields is preferred but not required
