They are currently seeking a Janitor for one of their facilities in Owen Sound. This is a permanent, full-time role with wage of $18.00/hr

About The Role

The Janitor is responsible for the cleaning of all hard floor surfaces and carpets, washrooms, common areas, offices, and the collection and removal of garbage from drop points to a garbage bin. Other responsibilities could be included.

Responsibilities

- Sweeping, Mop, & Wash Floors, Stairs, & Other Surfaces (Inside Buildings)
- Stripping & Waxing, Steam Cleaning Carpets, & Cleaning Windows – On Request Only
- Washing Windowsills; Glass in Interior Doors, Partitions, & Specified Windows
- Washing Glass & Trim at Entrance Doors, Interior/Exterior
- Washing/Spot Clean Interior Walls as Appropriate Daily
- Cleaning Bathrooms & Restock Paper Supplies Daily
- Standard Bathroom Procedures Include Damp Wiping Glass Surfaces, Emptying Waste Baskets, Servicing Soap & Toilet Paper Dispensers, Dusting Sills, Cleaning Tile Walls, Shelves, & Stall Partitions, & Sweeping/Mopping/Scrubbing Floors
- Assisting The Supervisor With any Other Assistance That Requires Help from the Employee
- Monitoring Possible Defects Such as Clogged Urinals & Lights Out, & Report Them to Supervisors




- Cleaning Showers & Travel Between the Two Buildings, Which Are Located Across the Street from Each Other
- Collecting Building Trash Daily, Place It in Approved Containers, & Move It to the Designated Collect Area for Subsequent Removal
- Replacing Liners in Waste Baskets & Trash Containers Per Specifications.
- Performing High Dusting & Wall Washing.
- Operating Compactors, Lift Up to 50 Lbs
- Use Heavy-Duty Machines, & Change Garbage

Qualifications

- Must Be Able to Take Direction
- Work With Minimal Supervision, & to Function Cooperatively as Part of a Team
- Ability to Use Cleaning Tools & Equipment
- Must Have Own Transportation
- Requires Attention to Detail
- A Pride in Delivering Excellent Service, Organization, & High Levels of Energy & Endurance
- Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check.

You may be a great fit for this position, if you have previous experience in Janitorial Services, Commercial cleaning, Building Maintenance, or Custodial work.
