Your Role
As an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer, you will contribute to the design and delivery of a wide variety of building projects while working closely with senior engineers, project managers, clients, and multidisciplinary teams.
You will be involved in all phases of project delivery, from concept development and design through construction support and project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Design mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, healthcare, industrial, laboratory, and mixed-use building projects.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and design documentation.
- Develop HVAC, plumbing, hydronic, and building systems designs in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
- Prepare and review construction drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Coordinate mechanical designs with electrical, structural, architectural, and other project disciplines.
- Participate in project meetings with clients, architects, contractors, and internal teams.
- Conduct site investigations, field reviews, and existing-condition assessments.
- Support construction administration activities and respond to contractor technical inquiries.
- Review shop drawings and equipment submittals.
- Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and technical coordination efforts.
- Assist in identifying innovative, sustainable, and energy-efficient design solutions.
- Support junior team members and contribute to a collaborative project environment.

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Professional Designation
- Registered P.Eng. with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), or eligible for registration.
Experience
- Approximately 5 to 10 years of experience in mechanical building systems consulting.
- Experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for building projects.
- Proven ability to independently manage mechanical design tasks and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience participating in multiple projects simultaneously.

Salary range: $95 000,00 – $110 000,00 per year, with final compensation determined based on experience, qualifications, scope of the role and geographic location.
