Job Summary

As a QA Technician, you will be responsible for helping JSF produce machined parts to our customers specification. Your role will encompass measuring parts, QA equipment upkeep and procurement, documentation and fostering a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

Measuring Parts and Customer Documentation

First-Article, in-process, and final inspections. Following and enforcing quality standards defined by JS Foster and the customer. Completing any quality documentation required by the customer. Documentation of inspection procedures. Ensuring Material certifications are in order and documented. Documenting Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and Process Development requests.

Technical Communication

Technical liaison between manufacturing staff, management, and customers. Transparent communication of part requirements, inspection results, and change requirements.

Safety Compliance

Enforce and uphold safety regulations and guidelines, fostering a culture of safety within the team. Conduct regular safety inspections and address any potential hazards promptly.

Continuous Improvement

Improve quality lab organization, layout, and cleanliness constantly. Improve workflows and systems to maximize efficiency.

Assist in Production

Aid production related duties as required. This can include operating CNC machines, finishing,



washing and packing parts.

CMM Fixturing, Programming and Modeling

Documenting CMM use and programming best practices. Designing CMM fixtures. Inspecting models writing and modifying CMM programs. Model and verify customer models parts using Fusion 360 when necessary.

QA Equipment Maintenance and Calibration

Maintenance of CMM (weekly and monthly calibrations, cleaning machine). Calibrating the measurement tools used by QA and the machinists to a high standard.

Training and Development

Assist training new team members on QA and manufacturing techniques, safety procedures, and QA equipment operation. Provide ongoing training to enhance the skills of existing staff and keep them updated on industry best practices.

Problem Solving

Address production challenges and issues as they arise, implementing corrective actions to minimize disruptions and maintain production schedules.

Qualifications

Diploma is Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent.

Machine shop experience an asset

Experience with CAD software, especially Fusion 360 an asset

Pay: $26.00-$32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
