Job Overview
Division 2 Contracting Ltd. is hiring experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to support ongoing commercial demolition projects throughout Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. We are a COR-certified contractor with a strong safety culture and a contemporary fleet of heavy equipment, including 200–390 size excavators.
Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of heavy machinery including excavators, bulldozers (dozer), loaders (front loader truck), backhoes, cranes, dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, and tanker trucks.
- Perform site preparation activities such as grading, trenching, and excavation to ensure the foundation for construction projects.
- Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment while maintaining safety standards.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety compliance.
- Follow project plans and specifications to execute tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate activities and meet project deadlines.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations on-site to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage and maintenance logs.
Qualifications
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, skid steers (Bobcat), and forklifts
- Perform daily pre-use inspections and complete equipment logs
- Identify and report equipment defects or maintenance need
- Complete minor emergency repairs when required
- Follow all company and site-specific health & safety procedures
- Operate company vehicles and equipment safely
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe worksites
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
Requirements
- Valid equipment certification or letter of competency
- 3–5 years heavy equipment operating experience
- Demolition experience considered an asset (not required)
- Strong knowledge of light to heavy equipment operations
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (asset)
- Strong safety awareness
