Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Industrial Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our Oakville facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, testing, inspecting, and troubleshooting mechanical equipment and gearbox units while following technical specifications and safety standards.

Responsibilities

- Assemble fabricated parts, mechanical components, and industrial equipment.
- Assemble and modify large gearbox units according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, layout drawings, and assembly instructions.
- Use hand and power tools for mechanical assembly.
- Test completed units and identify and correct defects or issues.
- Use precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and height gauges.
- Set and verify bearing clearance, gear contact, and backlash.
- Operate hoisting and lifting equipment safely.
- Retrieve and organize inventory and materials from warehouse shelves.




- Perform quality inspections to ensure assemblies meet required specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.

Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of mechanical assembly experience.
- Strong ability to read blueprints and mechanical assembly drawings.
- Hands-on experience using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and height gauges.
- Experience with bearing clearance, gear contact, and backlash.
- Large gearbox assembly experience is an asset.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
