York Centre for Addiction and Mental Health Inc. is dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based treatment approaches for addiction and mental health challenges in adults. Our programs focus on person-centered care within an abstinence-based model, fostering a supportive setting for recovery and well-being.

Private Treatment Centre is seeking an entry-level Overnight Addictions and Mental Health Counsellor to work at our residential facility in Aurora, Ontario.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Ensure overall client safety
Awareness of the location of the residents at all times during shift
Ensure that all doors are securely locked
Interact with clients as required
Communicate in an empathic, compassionate, sensitive and skilled manner with residents while on shift
Inform manager of any crisis situation
Attend all mandatory training programs and monthly team meeting
Complete all required documentation
Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements: This job requires the incumbent to remain awake at all times during the shift and be ready to assist residents as required

Qualifications:
Minimum education: college diploma specific to Addictions or Mental health




Knowledge of social work, psychology, addiction and mental health counselling best practices
Residential experience is an asset
Current First Aid and CPR training certificates mandatory.
Suicide Prevention and Crisis Intervention training is an asset.
Able to work independently and provide detailed and accurate daily reports.
Maintain knowledge, skills, and abilities by keeping up to date regarding qualified standards through reviewing current literature, attending workshops/seminars and networking with colleagues.

Willing to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Police Check We adhere to all Public Health guidelines.
