1st Year: $30–$34/hr | Journeyman: $35–$40/hr

We are looking for an experienced Journeyman Boom Truck Operator to join our team. This is a physically demanding role involving crane operations, hauling, loading/unloading, and working at customer sites.

The successful candidate will be safety-focused, skilled, mechanically minded, and committed to providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
Operate boom trucks and complete crane lifts safely and efficiently.
Load, unload, haul, and secure a variety of materials and equipment.
Plan lifts, select appropriate rigging, and follow crane charts and capacities.
Ensure proper load weights, axle weights, and cargo securement.
Complete required paperwork, inspections, logs, lift plans, and safety documentation.
Communicate with Dispatch regarding job progress, changes, and challenging lifts.
Lead and mentor Swampers/Riggers, Drivers, Apprentices, and other site workers.
Follow customer site requirements and all applicable safety and transportation regulations.
Maintain equipment, report mechanical issues, and keep trucks clean and ready for work.
Participate in an on-call rotation and occasional overnight trips.

Requirements




Journeyman Boom Truck Certificate (Alberta or equivalent)
Class 1 Driver’s Licence with Air Brake endorsement
5-year clean commercial driving abstract
Strong safety awareness and customer service skills.
Basic mechanical knowledge.
Comfortable working at heights.
Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs throughout the workday.
Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valuable physical fitness and manual dexterity.
