Position Description
The responsibly of a laborer may vary each day in fast-paced setting. Working safely efficiently and as part of a team. They may include cleaning and preparing a job site, loading and delivering materials, and using a variety of tools and machines such as torches, forklifts, levels, lifts, power drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers, and water spraying equipment. Some travel will be required.
Experience, Qualifications & Education
Drivers License required
Marine Experience specifically ship repair
Mechanical background (would be an asset)
Must have good communication skills to be able to interact verbally with peers
Health and Safety mindset
Comfortable working around heavy equipment
Possess a robust work ethic, positive attitude and proven ability to work effectively in a team setting
Working Conditions
Perform physical labour, lifting up to 50-60lbs
You can be exposed to environmental conditions such as hot and cold temperatures, work areas that are muddy, greasy, dusty, wet and noisy, and areas with frequent vibration
Work is performed in all weather conditions
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment, such as a hard hat, eye protection, hearing protection, respirators, safety shoes, and other job specific protective equipment.
Confined Space Entry Certificate (would be an asset)
