Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, manage appointment scheduling, and handle administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication skills, familiarity with dental office operations, and proficiency with electronic dental records systems. The Dental Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth patient experience and maintaining the overall efficiency of the front desk operations.
Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using Open Dental software
Manage multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries, direct calls, and take messages accurately
Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records accordingly
Collect payments and process billing transactions efficiently
Maintain organized patient records in compliance with privacy regulations
Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and correspondence
Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth daily operations
Handle front desk duties including checking in/out patients and managing appointment flow
Experience
Prior experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a dental office setting REQUIRED
Familiarity with dental software use REQUIRED
Familiarity with dental/medical terminology and electronic medical records systems
Office experience involving front desk responsibilities and multi-line phone systems
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Experience working in a quick-paced healthcare environment is a plus
