Yard & Logistics Coordinator / Steel Yard Supervisor

Location: Calgary, Alberta
Employment: Full-time

An established Calgary structural steel contractor is looking for a hands-on person to take ownership of its yard and help keep materials, equipment, and deliveries moving between the shop and job sites.

This role suits someone who likes an organized yard, understands construction materials, and can stay ahead of what crews need next. You’ll work closely with the shop, project managers, drivers, and field crews.

What you’ll do
Organize steel, miscellaneous metals, hardware, and equipment in the yard.
Receive deliveries, check quantities, and identify missing or damaged items.
Prepare and verify loads before they leave for site.
Coordinate delivery timing, trucks, trailers, and equipment with the shop and field teams.
Track material moving between the yard, shop, and job sites.
Help identify shortages early so they do not delay fabrication or installation.
Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient yard.
Direct yard activities and provide hands-on support where needed.





What we’re looking for
Experience in a steel yard, fabrication shop, construction yard, or similar setting.
Solid organization and communication skills.
Confidence reading material lists and checking loads for accuracy.
The ability to prioritize changing requests and follow through.
Forklift or material-handling experience is an asset.
A practical, safety-minded approach and willingness to pitch in.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
