Lead child protection efforts as a Senior Social Worker with the Department of Social Development and Seniors. In this senior role, you will conduct investigations and mentor junior staff in a supportive setting.This senior social work position involves active leadership within the Provincial Child Protection Intake Investigation Team, focusing on complex child protection cases. You will investigate reports to assess child safety, conduct home visits, and document findings to ensure compliance with the Child, Youth and Family Services Act. Mentorship and support for junior colleagues, along with managing caseloads, are critical components of this challenging role.Key Responsibilities:
Conduct investigations and assess child protection reports
Manage complex cases and provide mentorship to staff
Document findings and complete Child Protection forms
Conduct joint interviews with law enforcement as needed
Develop service plans for child safety and family supportRequirements:
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work
Eligibility for registration with PEI Social Work Board
Experience in child protection preferred
Valid PEI Class 5 driver’s license required
