Facilities Maintenance is an integral part of the organization, ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and systems to support the smooth functioning of airport operations. This Plumber position presents a unique opportunity to work on the largest building in BC, exposing you to a diverse range of exciting systems. By leveraging your expertise in diagnosing and promptly resolving plumbing issues, delivering exceptional customer service, and contributing to a seamless and efficient workflow, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the building's infrastructure and ensuring the utmost satisfaction of our clients. A sample of the many systems you will be responsible for include sewage, fire protection, dyke pump stations, fire hydrants and back flow preventers throughout Sea Island.
40-hour work week with generous compensation for overtime work
~ Eligible to earn a shift premium of $2.50 per hour for night shifts, along with an additional weekend premium of $2.25 per hour for weekend shifts
~4 on 4 off (2 days followed by 2 nights)
~ Extended health, vision, and dental plans and a $750/year HCSA
~ Access to 24/7 fitness facilities

Inspecting, repairing, and testing backflow assemblies
Preventative and corrective maintenance of sewer, storm and dyke pump stations
Responding to flooding: sewer/ storm backups, waterline/water main breaks
Responding to hydronic leaks: chilled, heating or glycol systems
Responding to fire suppression system issues

Five years’ recent,



related experience in an airport and/or industrial plant environment, supplemented by a Red Seal in Plumbing
Demonstrated experience with back flow prevention testing, with various types of mechanical and electrical equipment, and in asset lifecycle development and management
Ability to interpret and apply the National Plumbing Code
Positive communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment with other trades, as well as independently, with little supervision
Although not required, French language skills are an asset as we are committed to providing bilingual services to our visitors and passengers. Candidates who do not speak French are still strongly encouraged to apply.
The shift schedule is 4 on 4 off (2 days followed by 2 nights), with a requirement through winter operations for 24/7 operations. As an employee on a shifted work schedule, you may be eligible for shift and weekend premiums.
