Position Purpose The AVP, Actuarial Pricing will own actuarial pricing strategy, product economics, and cross-functional execution for Sagicor’s U.S. annuity and indexed life portfolio, including Multi-Year Guaranteed Annuities (MYGA), Fixed Indexed Annuities (FIA), Payout Annuities, and Indexed Life products.
This role will translate complex actuarial analysis into clear commercial recommendations, influence product design from concept through launch, support regulatory filings and implementation, and develop actuarial talent within a cooperative, growth-oriented team environment.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Set pricing strategy and product economics for MYGA, FIA, Payout Annuity, and Indexed Life products, balancing customer value, market competitiveness, profitability, capital efficiency, and risk.
- Transform complex AXIS modeling and financial analysis into compelling recommendations for senior leadership and product governance forums.
- Evaluate emerging market opportunities, product experience, and competitive trends to identify opportunities for growth and enhancement.
- Own the actuarial workstream across the product lifecycle, from concept and pricing through filing, implementation, launch, and post-launch performance monitoring.
- Set and challenge pricing assumptions, methodologies, sensitivities, and profitability targets under U.S. Statutory and IFRS 17 frameworks.
- Lead, coach,
and develop actuarial resources through effective delegation, technical review, workload planning, and meaningful professional development opportunities.
- Partner across Product, Investments, Risk, Finance, Accounting, IT, Administration, Legal, and Compliance to bring ideas to market with speed and discipline.
- Strengthen pricing models, controls, documentation, and governance while championing responsible use of automation, analytics, and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools where appropriate, to improve pricing processes, decision support, and operational efficiency.

This role will shape Sagicor’s product portfolio, accelerate how new ideas reach the market, and help build the next generation of actuarial leadership.
Qualifications
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA).
- Seven to ten years of actuarial experience in life insurance,
annuities, or closely related financial services.
- Demonstrated success pricing U.S. annuity products and applying actuarial judgment to product design, profitability, capital, and risk considerations.
- Strong working knowledge of the end-to-end product lifecycle, including product design, actuarial modeling, governance, regulatory filings, implementation, and performance monitoring.
- Advanced analytical and modeling capabilities, including proficiency in Excel; experience with AXIS or a comparable actuarial modeling platform is preferred.
- Familiarity with responsible use of automation, analytics, or AI-enabled tools to support actuarial analysis, documentation, controls, and process improvement.
- A commercial mindset and proven ability to design products that achieve profitability targets while appropriately balancing risk, capital, customer value, and market competitiveness.
- A confident communicator who can make complex actuarial topics accessible and persuasive for executives, business partners, auditors, and regulators.
- Proven leadership of actuarial work through coaching, delegation, workload planning, technical review, and hands-on support when needed.
- Strong project leadership with the ability to manage competing priorities, resolve resource constraints, and deliver high-quality outcomes on schedule.
- A creative, solutions-oriented approach, supported by strong research, qualified networking, and sound judgment.
- A commitment to strong documentation, model governance, controls, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally as business needs require, including maintaining appropriate travel documentation.
- Experience with fixed indexed annuities, indexed life, or other accumulation-oriented products.
- Experience supporting product filings, implementation, governance forums, or post-launch performance monitoring.
