About the Role

Our client is seeking a reliable and versatile General Maintenance Worker to join their facilities management team in East London, Eastern Cape . This role involves a wide range of tasks to ensure the upkeep and operational efficiency of their premises. You will be responsible for performing various repairs and maintenance duties, contributing to a safe, clean, and functional environment. The ideal candidate is a practical problem-solver with a broad skillset, able to handle diverse maintenance needs efficiently and effectively, working independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform general repairs including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting tasks.
- Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Maintain building systems such as HVAC filters, lighting, and basic fixtures.
- Respond to and resolve maintenance requests from staff and management.




- Ensure grounds and common areas are kept tidy and well-maintained.
- Assist with equipment setup, moving, and general facility upkeep.

Requirements

- Proven experience in a general maintenance or handyman role.
- Broad knowledge of building systems and common repair techniques.
- Proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and working in various conditions.
- Positive communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
