Role Description The Commercial Lender is a full-time, on-site role based in Toronto, ON. This position is responsible for assessing commercial loan opportunities, assessing creditworthiness, and managing a portfolio of business clients. Day-to-day activities include analyzing financial statements, preparing credit memos, coordinating underwriting, and ensuring loans comply with internal policies and external regulations.

The Commercial

Lender will meet with clients and prospects to understand their financing needs, provide responsive customer service, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver timely approvals and closings. The role also involves maintaining market awareness, identifying new business opportunities, and contributing to the growth strategy of Genara Capital.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong underwriting and credit analysis skills, including experience evaluating financial statements and risk profiles.
- Candidates should possess solid finance and loans expertise, with a track record in structuring commercial lending solutions and managing loan portfolios.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Canada Build, CMHC or similar government-backed lending programs, including eligibility requirements and documentation standards.




- Candidates should possess excellent customer service skills, with the ability to build relationships, communicate clearly, and address client needs promptly.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Robust quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Ability to work on-site in Toronto, ON, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and manage multiple deals and deadlines.
- Prior experience in commercial lending, banking, or financial services is strongly preferred.
