The Development Engineer position plays a key role in shaping Stouffville’s future by leading the review and coordination of subdivisions, site plans, development agreements, and supporting municipal infrastructure. Position Purpose:
Co-ordinates,
reviews and recommends approval of subdivision engineering submissions and site plans; prepares and administers subdivision agreements, and other tracking documentation and monitors subdivision developments. Prepares Council reports and By laws related to subdivisions such as agreement approvals, assumption, addressing and Street Naming.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Four (4) year Civil Engineering Degree or equal Specialized Civil Technology Program. Completion of Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing O.B.C. Course and Exams.
- Designation with the Professional Engineers of Ontario and the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists.
- Three (3) years of municipal construction inspection and design. Five (5) years’ experience in subdivision and site plan agreement administration, design and approvals.
- Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings, carry out municipal servicing designs, perform stormwater management calculations with knowledge of Best Management Practices and design of septic systems & wells.
- Working knowledge of preparation and registration of subdivision agreements. Knowledge of Planning process.
- Computer literacy in MS office suites Word, Excel, Auto Cad, MS Project, Land Manager, GIS and SWM Programs.
- Professional Engineer and/or Certified Engineering Technologist.
- Well defined analytical, reasoning and report writing skills.
