Business Analyst - Payments Location: Toronto, ON Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid 4 days in office Contract Details Position Type: Contract Contract Duration: 12 months (extension possible; conversion to permanent possible) Pay Rate: C$64.00 C$78.00 / Hour (CAD) Shift / Schedule: Monday Friday, core business hours; overtime as needed Travel Requirements: Not required Job Summary Reporting to the Senior Manager, Payments Platform Capabilities, the successful candidate will play a critical role in the management and delivery of business analysis activities on complex, transformational, cross-functional project(s) for Enterprise Payments .
This role sits within an Enterprise Payments Business team of 8 people, is focused on payments modernization , and involves leading requirements gathering, business process analysis, stakeholder management, and working with technology partners.
The hiring manager is looking for someone who combines strong BA skills with payments/banking knowledge and technology understanding someone who thinks from a business lens first and is able to translate business needs into technology specifications, communicate effectively with both business and technology teams, has meaningful stakeholder-management experience, and is comfortable working across different payment modernization projects.
Current projects underway on the team include Wire Payments Modernization (understanding end-to-end business processes, identifying systems involved, defining requirements for technology modernization), Data Services (customer/data requirements and understanding end-to-end customer data needs), and EFT/EDAS Modernization (modernizing capabilities currently embedded in mainframe applications, identifying which business capabilities can be extracted from legacy/mainframe systems, and determining what can be built outside the mainframe environment).
Candidates should understand payment types and basic payment messaging, including Wire payments, EFT, EDI/EDAS, and SWIFT messages, as well as a general understanding of how banks communicate payment information.
Deep technical/payment expertise is not required, but the hiring manager specifically wants familiarity with payment types and associated messaging.
No credit-card or debit-card experience is required.
Key Responsibilities Leadership of the end-to-end business requirements throughout the lifecycle of the project, working collaboratively with stakeholders from lines of business, technology, operations and governance & control, always keeping a customer-centric focus Proactive identification and management of requirement risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and constraints Contribution to Change Management deliverables (stakeholder analysis, gap analysis,
