HUMAN RESOURCE SERVICES ASSISTANT –

- HEALTH AND WELLNESS

1.0 FTE Permanent

Salary Range: $64,350 – 80,440 per year The Simcoe County District School Board is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Human Resource Services Assistant –

- Health and Wellness. The successful candidate will work within the Human Resource Services Department to provide administrative and office support to various teams as required; the current assignment is with Health and Wellness Services. This is a position that requires a high level of initiative, professionalism, diplomacy, confidentiality, and the ability to work both independently and as a team member. The successful candidate will be responsible for the facilitation/delivery of the Wellness and Disability Management/Attendance Support Programs, for all board employees. The position will actively monitor, analyze, and report attendance data to stakeholders and provide support to employees on attendance and wellness. This position will also assist in the development, implementation, and on-going support of the board-wide Wellness Program.

Qualifications, Pertinent Skills And Experience

- Two (2) year Community College diploma in Human Resources, Business, or related field, or equivalent;
- One (1) –
- Two (2) years administrative experience, preferably in an educational or large, complex, unionized human resources environment;
- Excellent computer skills including experience with data management systems and MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint);
- Experience with Parklane and absence reporting systems would be preferred;
- Knowledge of K212 HRIS (IPPS) or similar HRIS would be a definite asset;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Highly organized with experience in developing and maintaining organizational systems;
- Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team and independently;
- Ability to prioritize and work in a multifunctional environment with competing priorities;
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills;
- Ability to work with issues of a sensitive and confidential nature;
- Knowledge of employment related legislation, e.g., Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, Ontario Human Rights Code,



Personal Health Information Protection Act, Employment Standards Act, Insurance Plans, and other applicable legislation.
- HRPA designation would be an asset.

Duties Include

- Processing and submissions of injury report and registration of WSIB claims;
- Assists Health and Wellness Case Coordinators with early and protected return to work of injured employees;
- Coordination of treatment modalities to support employees in the return-to-work process;
- Process invoices for Health and Wellness, e.g. treatment providers, etc;
- Monitors, analyzes, and compiles attendance tracking reports regarding sick leave usage;
- Tracking of sick leave balances for employees on medical leave;
- Correspond with Long-Term Disability providers;
- Provide on-going support of Health and Wellness initiatives and support for the Human Resources department;
- Data entry for the human resources information system (IPPS.net), Park Lane, etc.;
- Other duties as assigned.

Testing May Be Required During The Selection Process. This is a full-time permanent position. The regular work year for this position is twelve (12) months of the year. The compensation range for this twelve (12) month position is $64,350 to $80,440 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. The normal work week for this position is thirty-five (35) hours. Participation in the OMERS Pension Plan is mandatory for all full-time permanent employees,

even if currently in receipt of an OMERS pension.
