Role Description The Human Resources Generalist is a full time, on-site role based in Calgary, AB. This position is responsible for supporting day-to-day HR operations, including administering HR policies, maintaining employee records, and coordinating recruitment and onboarding activities. The role involves assisting with benefits administration, answering employee inquiries, and supporting performance management and employee relations initiatives.
The HR Generalist will collaborate with managers to ensure consistent application of HR practices,
contribute to HR process improvements, and help maintain compliance with applicable laws and internal standards. This role also supports HR reporting, participation in HR projects, and fostering a positive, safe, and inclusive workplace culture.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in Human Resources (HR) and HR Management, with the ability to support generalist HR functions.
- Knowledge of HR Policies and their application in day-to-day operations, including compliance with relevant employment legislation.
- Experience with Employee Benefits and Benefits Administration, including enrollment, changes, and employee support.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build trust and work effectively with employees at all levels.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and MS Office tools, and ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; professional HR designation (e.g., CHRP/CPHR) is an asset.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is an advantage, along with familiarity with health and safety practices.
