About Us

Kraft Berger LLP is a growing Chartered Professional Accounting firm of 80 professionals serving wide variety of clientele across a broad range of industries. We’re a close-knit team that values accuracy, confidentiality, and finding smarter ways to work.

About the Role

You will be part of a team of three IT staff and external network support partner, reporting to the head Network Administrator and/or CIO. You will be required to work at times completely independently, prioritizing tasks and duties, and at times in close collaboration with the above parties.

This is not a traditional IT support role. Our core network infrastructure is cloud based and is managed by an external IT partner, which frees our internal team to focus on three things: (1) Keeping our office technology running smoothly; (2) Lead and participate in projects to automate repetitive office processes; and (3) Assist in the constant effort to research and upgrade internal systems.

You will split your time between hands-on work with our on-premises hardware & cloud and on-premises software & services; take charge of initiatives to build and tweak automations and agents with tools like Power Automate, Copilot Studio, scripts, and other AI and automation tools; and, head research, conversion and migration of legacy software to cloud-based solutions. If you enjoy both fixing things with your hands and writing a script that saves someone hours every week, this role was built for you.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in our Markham office. All regular work is performed on-site. Occasional remote work outside regular business hours is required, in evenings or on the weekends. For example, to complete system updates, maintenance,

or urgent support with minimal disruption to staff.

What You’ll Do On-site IT operations

- Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot workstations, laptops, printers, scanners, phones, meeting-room equipment, and other office hardware.
- Handle onboarding and offboarding of staff, including device setup, account provisioning, and equipment tracking.
- Provide friendly, responsive day-to-day support to staff, especially during our busy tax and year-end seasons.
- Maintain hardware inventory, asset records, and basic documentation.
- Work with our Network Administrator and external IT partner on escalations, upgrades, and projects.
- Maintain thorough and up to date documentation of all the IT services, processes and procedures.

Automation and process improvement

- Help identify repetitive administrative, practice and IT tasks across the firm and help design automated solutions, either in-house or in collaboration with consultants.
- Design, build and maintain workflows using Power Automate, Power Apps, Copilot Studio and other tools.
- Connect systems and applications through APIs to reduce manual data entry.
- Explore practical uses of AI agents and tools to improve how our teams work, with appropriate attention to data security.
- Document automations so they can be supported and improved over time.
- Take charge of projects to convert and migrate existing legacy software to the cloud versions.

What You Bring

- 3 to 5 years of experience in IT support, IT operations,

or a similar technical role.
- Hands-on experience with desktop hardware, peripherals, and Windows environments.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration (Entra ID/Azure AD, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune).
- Practical experience building automation with Power Automate or similar tools.
- Understanding REST APIs and how to use them to connect systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the patience to explain technical things in plain language.
- Strong sense of discretion. You’ll work in an environment that handles confidential client financial information.

Nice to Have

- Experience with Copilot Studio or building AI agents.
- Scripting ability in Python and/or PowerShell.
- Familiarity with accounting or professional services software (e.g., CaseWare, CCH iFirm, TaxPrep, or similar).
- A diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft 365 Certified (MD-102, MS-102), or Microsoft Power Platform (PL-100, PL-500).
- Awareness of Canadian privacy requirements (PIPEDA) and cybersecurity best practices.

Why Join Us

- A role that’s evolving with technology, not stuck in the past.
- Real impact: your automation will directly improve the workday of 80 colleagues.
- Mentorship from an experienced Network Administrator.
