Bridge Healthcare is recruiting a Family Physician / General Practitioner to provide short-term locum coverage for a busy and rapidly growing medical practice in the Amherstburg, Ontario area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a physician seeking flexible, short-term locum work with immediate patient demand, an established patient base, and strong administrative and clinical support.

The practice is seeking coverage as soon as possible for approximately 1 to 3 months , with flexibility available based on the physician’s schedule and availability.

The Opportunity The practice has experienced significant growth and patient demand within its first few months of operation.

There is currently a ready-made roster of approximately 400+ patients , with an additional 200+ patients on the waitlist .

The clinic also regularly sees 40+ walk-in patients per day , with demand frequently exceeding available physician capacity.

On many days, walk-in registration has had to close several hours before the clinic itself closes due to patient volume.

Online walk-in bookings and new family-practice registrations have also been temporarily limited because of the level of demand.

For a locum physician, this means the chance to step directly into an active practice with a strong and established patient base, without needing to spend time building a practice from the ground up.

Role The locum physician will provide a combination of:



Comprehensive family medicine Care for existing rostered patients during the locum coverage period Walk-in and episodic care Preventative care and routine health assessments Chronic disease management General primary-care services and referrals as appropriate The clinic is seeking coverage for approximately 1 to 3 months and can offer flexibility when establishing the physician’s schedule.

Coverage may include a combination of family practice and walk-in care depending on patient needs and physician availability.

Compensation & Locum Support The compensation structure includes a guaranteed daily minimum , providing additional income stability during the locum assignment, together with a competitive physician billing split once billings exceed the guaranteed amount.

Additional support may include: Flexible scheduling Immediate access to an established patient roster Strong and consistent walk-in demand Travel and accommodation support, where appropriate and within reason Administrative and billing support Flexibility around the structure and duration of the locum arrangement Specific compensation, scheduling, travel, accommodation,



and coverage arrangements can be discussed based on the physician’s availability and anticipated start date.

Practice Support Physicians will have access to established practice infrastructure and administrative support, including: Reception and administrative support Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system Billing and practice-management support Clinical support resources Access to complementary healthcare services and resources, including pharmacy and laboratory services where applicable The objective is to allow the locum physician to focus primarily on patient care while the administrative team supports the day-to-day operation of the practice.

Qualifications Candidates should: Hold or be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) Have appropriate postgraduate training and qualifications to practise family medicine/general practice in Ontario Be eligible to practise independently in Ontario, or be progressing through an applicable Ontario licensure pathway Demonstrate strong communication, professionalism, and a patient-centred approach to care Applications are welcomed from physicians currently practising in Canada, as well as qualified Canadian and internationally trained physicians who are eligible to pursue Ontario licensure.

Start Date The practice is looking to add locum physician coverage as soon as possible , with immediate opportunities available.

The preferred coverage period is approximately 1 to 3 months , with flexibility based on physician availability.
