Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Python / Excel Developer to join a Trader Tools team supporting a fast-paced Securities Lending business within a Capital Markets technology environment.

This individual will work closely with traders and business users to investigate issues, support and enhance existing tools, and develop new solutions that improve daily business operations.

This is a highly collaborative and business-facing role for someone who enjoys problem-solving, learning recent technologies, and working directly with stakeholders.

The successful candidate will contribute to production support, application enhancements, and new development initiatives while demonstrating strong communication, curiosity, and ownership.
RESPONSIBILITIES / TASKS:
- Investigate and troubleshoot issues raised by business users, identifying root causes and implementing solutions
- Analyze data discrepancies, process failures, and application-related issues across supported platforms
- Collaborate directly with traders and business stakeholders to gather requirements and resolve technical challenges
- Support, maintain, and enhance existing Excel, VBA, Python, and SQL-based applications
- Review and understand legacy tools and applications developed by previous team members
- Develop automation solutions and productivity tools that improve business processes
- Participate in project work, backlog initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts
- Contribute ideas for improving application stability, performance, maintainability, and user experience
Skills and Requirements
• 2-3 years of experience in software development, technical analyst, or application support roles.
• Experience with Python and/or advanced Excel development.
• Working knowledge of SQL and experience querying relational databases.




• Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Experience investigating issues and determining root causes in business applications.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and work independently.
• Experience working directly with business users to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Experience with VBA development
• Experience with SQL Server
• Exposure to C# development
• Familiarity with source control tools such as Git or Azure Dev

Ops
• Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) practices
• Experience supporting internal business applications or production environments
• Exposure to Capital Markets, Financial Services, Securities Lending, or trading technology environments
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Microsoft Copilot or Git
