**Job Title: CNC Machinist**
**Job Description**
This role focuses on setting up and operating 5-axis CNC vertical milling machines to produce high-precision components.
You will use advanced machining techniques, interpret complex blueprints, and ensure all parts meet strict dimensional tolerances while maintaining a solid commitment to safety and efficiency.
**Responsibilities**
Set up and operate 5-axis CNC vertical milling machines to produce precision components.
Use appropriate tools, fixtures, and indicators to accurately set up machines for each job.
Load, unload, change, and modify CNC programs as required to meet production and quality requirements.
Change and set cutting tools to suit specific materials and operations.
Modify and grind tools as needed to maintain cutting performance and part quality.
Adjust feeds and speeds to optimize machining efficiency and tool life.
Operate machines with all safety precautions in place and follow established safety procedures at all times.
Deburr and prepare parts before loading and after unloading to ensure a high-quality finish.
Measure and inspect parts using appropriate measuring instruments to verify dimensions are within specified tolerances.
Read and interpret blueprints to understand part specifications and machining requirements.
Apply knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;) to ensure accurate and repeatable part production.
Work within a machine shop environment using mills, lathes, and other equipment as needed to support production.
**Essential Skills**
710+ years of CNC Machinist experience in a production or job shop environment.
5+ years of experience with 35 axis milling operations.
Proficiency in setting up and operating 5-axis CNC vertical milling machines.
Strong blueprint reading skills and the ability to interpret complex drawings.
Hands-on experience with mills and lathes, including both CNC and manual equipment.
Ability to set up machines, including selecting and installing fixtures, tools, and workholding devices.
Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and other inspection tools.
Experience operating Fanuc or Haas CNC machines.
Solid understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;).
Ability to adjust feeds and speeds to maximize machining efficiency and maintain quality.
Demonstrated ability to safely operate within a machine shop environment.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Machinist certification or formal machinist education is considered an asset.
Experience with Mastercam programming or toolpath generation is an asset.
Experience in the aerospace industry is an asset, particularly with tight-tolerance, high-precision components.
Familiarity with deburring techniques and part finishing processes.
Comfort working with modern CNC equipment and mostly new machines.

**Work Environment**
This position is based in a machine shop environment with mostly new CNC equipment, including 5-axis vertical milling machines and Fanuc or Haas controls.
The role is on an afternoon shift, working Monday to Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. and Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The work involves standing for extended periods, handling metal components, and operating mills, lathes, and precision measuring tools in a production setting.
Safety procedures and appropriate shop attire are required at all times to ensure a safe and professional work environment.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vaughan, ON.
**Pay and Perks**
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
