**Welder (Stick)**

We're seeking a skilled stick welder to fabricate large custom structural steel assemblies.

**_Job Responsibilities_**
3+ years of welding experience preferred
Fit and stick weld (SMAW) structual steel in all positions with a significant amount of vertical and overhead work
Fabricate large custom structural steel assemblies from drawings and direction from the lead engineer
Position, level and fit each component with precision before completing short, accurate welds
Work at heights up to approximately 20 feet using aerial work platforms and scissor lifts
Cut, prep and remove material using torch, plasma, grinders and other hand and power tools
Operate aerial work platforms and scissor lifts to move material and access work areas
Support test set-up, dismantle completed structures and perform routine equipment maintenance
Work alongside crane operators, engineers and technicians while keeping the work area clean and safe
**_Essential Skills_**
Proficiency in stick welding (SMAW) on steel in all positions, including vertical and overhead
Structural steel welding experience beyond bench or production work
Experience and confidence working at heights from an elevated platform
Ability to read and work from drawings and blueprints
Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and a safety-first mindset
Ability to work independently and take direction from a lead
**_Nice-to-Have Skills_**
Valid Working at Heights certification
Aerial Work Platform and Scissor Lift certification
CWB or other recognized welding certifications
Structural ironworker, steel erector or welder-fitter background
Carpentry, roofing or membrane installation experience
_Certifications that are expired or not yet held can be obtained or renewed before starting._
**_Work Setting & Schedule_**
You'll work indoors in a high-bay facility as part of a small, close-knit technician team, with direct mentorship from the lead engineer.

Work is project-based with no production quotas: each structure is built, tested and dismantled on a cycle of about three months, keeping your days varied and engaging.




**Pay** : $28-32 per hour, depending on skills and experience
