Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Test Technician / Operator for a leading Aerospace & Defence client in Ottawa, ON.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity working on-site Monday to Friday with a 2-shift rotation schedule.
The successful candidate will be responsible for mechanical installation of engines and test components, preparing test beds and instrumentation, operating altitude testing equipment, monitoring engine performance during test execution, recording test data, troubleshooting issues, and supporting facility operations while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Skills and Requirements
Technical college diploma in aircraft maintenance, aviation technology, mechanical technology, or a related field
1-2 years of mechanical, technical, industrial, or control room experience (new graduates are encouraged to apply)
Ability to work a rotating 2-shift schedule
Basic knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power
Point)
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a safety-focused environment
Team-oriented with a proactive attitude and willingness to learn
Functional English communication skills
Experience with engine testing, test cells, or aerospace testing environments
Familiarity with test instrumentation, sensors, and data acquisition systems
Experience monitoring equipment through HMI or control systems
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, or mechanical diagrams
Background in diagnosing and resolving technical issues in a control room setting
Knowledge of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S;) practices
Exposure to continuous improvement or lean manufacturing initiatives
Project coordination or project management experience
Previous experience within the aerospace, defence, aviation, or industrial manufacturing sectors
