Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior OutSystems Solution Architect to design, architect, and lead the delivery of enterprise-scale low-code applications using OutSystems O11 and OutSystems Developer Cloud (ODC).

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in OutSystems solution architecture, enterprise application design, workflow automation, API integrations, CoE governance, CI/CD, security, data processing, and application modernization.

The role requires a combination of hands-on technical architecture and delivery leadership, including requirements analysis, solution design, architecture reviews, development oversight, Agile delivery, UAT, deployment, production support, and stakeholder management.

The architect will also contribute to OutSystems Center of Excellence (CoE) practices and identify opportunities to incorporate AI/Agentic AI-enabled automation into enterprise workflows.

These areas closely reflect the candidate's demonstrated responsibilities across architecture ownership, delivery, Scrum management, stakeholder engagement, governance and AI-enabled process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

OutSystems Solution Architecture

- Design scalable, secure, maintainable enterprise applications using OutSystems O11 and ODC.
- Define application architecture, integration patterns, security models, reusable components, and deployment strategies.
- Translate complex business requirements into appropriate technical architecture and solution designs.
- Conduct architecture and design reviews and ensure adherence to enterprise development standards.
- Develop and promote reusable application templates, screen templates, components, workflow patterns, and architecture frameworks.
- Provide technical guidance to OutSystems developers and technical leads.

OutSystems CoE & Governance

- Establish and enhance OutSystems Center of Excellence (CoE) practices.
- Define governance frameworks covering:
- Project intake
- Architecture/design reviews
- Development standards
- Reusable components
- Application templates
- Deployment governance
- Release management
- Documentation standards
- Development and DevOps playbooks

- Ensure applications comply with established architecture, development, security, and deployment standards.

The profile specifically demonstrates experience establishing OutSystems CoE governance, project intake, design reviews, deployment tracking, reusable assets and development/DevOps playbooks.

Enterprise Integration

Design and implement integrations between OutSystems applications and enterprise platforms using:
- REST and SOAP APIs
- Microsoft Graph API
- Salesforce
- SAP and other ERP platforms
- AWS S3
- AWS Redshift
- Databricks
- Power BI
- SharePoint
- SQL Server
- Shared mailboxes
- Payment gateways

Implement enterprise authentication and identity-management integrations including SSO, OIDC, IDP and SCIM.

Workflow & Business Process Automation

- Architect configurable enterprise workflow and approval applications.
- Design sequential and parallel approval processes.
- Implement escalations, notifications, recalls, exception handling and audit trails.
- Develop configurable workflow solutions supporting complex business approval hierarchies.
- Automate manual and document-intensive business processes.
- Design applications supporting high-volume transaction and request processing.
- Ensure appropriate auditability and traceability across workflow applications.

Experience designing complex multi-level approval processes is highly desirable. The source profile, for example, includes both a nine-level approval workflow and a 15-level order cancellation workflow.

DevOps & CI/CD

- Establish CI/CD practices for OutSystems applications.
- Integrate OutSystems deployment processes with tools such as Jenkins.
- Manage application deployment across development, test and production environments.
- Establish deployment tracking and release governance.
- Support environment management, production releases and post-production activities.

Agentic AI & Intelligent Automation

- Identify opportunities to incorporate Agentic AI and Generative AI into enterprise applications.
- Design intelligent workflow automation capabilities such as:
- Automated reminders
- Action-item generation
- Intelligent workflow follow-ups
- Exception management
- AI-assisted process automation

- Evaluate how AI agents can augment existing low-code business processes.
- Work with business and technical teams to identify practical enterprise AI use cases.

The profile lists an OutSystems Agentic AI Specialist (ODC) certification and experience applying Agentic AI to reminders and action-item generation within workflow applications.

Technical Leadership & Delivery

- Lead technical delivery across multiple parallel OutSystems initiatives.
- Provide architecture and technical direction to large, distributed development teams.
- Participate in requirements workshops and translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Manage technical backlog, estimation and delivery planning.
- Support sprint planning, daily Scrum, backlog refinement, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
- Coordinate development, testing, UAT, deployment and hypercare.
- Conduct client demonstrations and technical presentations.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Project Managers, developers, QA teams, infrastructure teams and business stakeholders.
- Provide technical mentorship and support to development teams.

Required Technical Skills

Must Have:

- 12+ years of overall IT experience.
- 7+ years of hands-on OutSystems experience.
- 7+ years of strong experience with OutSystems O11.
- 5+ years of experience with OutSystems Developer Cloud (ODC).
- Strong OutSystems solution architecture experience.
- Enterprise web/mobile application architecture.
- OutSystems CoE and governance experience.
- REST/SOAP API integration.
- Enterprise authentication – SSO/OIDC.
- Workflow and approval-process architecture.
- CI/CD and deployment governance.




- SQL and enterprise data integration.
- Agile/Scrum delivery.
- Strong technical leadership and stakeholder-management skills.
