Upper Canada Child Care - “A smile on each child’s face…every day.” We are currently recruiting for a dual position of Assistant Educator and Temporary Accommodation Support Facilitator to join our Team in Keswick at the following location(s): Prince of Peace CES & Lake Simcoe PS.

Temporary Accommodation Support Facilitator: $19.55/hour Assistant Educator $20.60 - $23.54/hour (includes General Operating Grant) plus Wage Enhancement Grant (up to $2.00/hr) and Split Shift Premium ($2.00/hr). *Candidates must be available to work a split shift in a before and after school program.

Assistant

Educator - Casual Supply status (variable hours): Candidates must be available to work a minimum of 5 assigned shifts every month.

Accomodation Support

Facilitator - Temporary Part time (15 hrs/week): Candidates must be available to work a 3 hour shift Monday-Friday to be considered.

Upper Canada Child

Care also operates summer day camps at select locations, in addition to unique programs such as residential camp and forest school. To assist the teachers in program delivery ensuring operational requirements are met in compliance with all internal and external guidelines, policies and procedures. To ensure the delivery of a developmentally appropriate, play based program by applying specialized skills and knowledge related to early childhood education.

Supports the organization’s vision, mission, and guiding values. Applies current legislative expectations to support a program that is consistent with Ministry of Education requirements and in accordance with Upper Canada Child Care’s program statement. Assists with program charts, daily logs, reports and administration tasks as required. Participates in professional development opportunities, staff meetings and training sessions as required. Engages with the children and provides a positive learning experience.

Provides a range of care including assisting with meals/snacks, toileting, diapering, dressing, etc. Fosters the engagement of and ongoing communication with parents about the program and their children. Completes program charts, daily logs, reports,



and other administration tasks as required.

Uses Storypark for pedagogical documentation as a guide for program development. Effectively collaborates and communicates with other team members, school personnel, and outside agencies to help support the needs of all children. Works to support and maintain an inclusive environment.

Accepts direction from other staff members in order to best support the program. May be required to interact with children on a 1:1 basis and/or supervise a group of children. Observes pedagogical documentation as a guide for program development.

Contributes to the design of Individual Support Plans and supports the implementation with full effort in collaboration with the Inclusion Support team. May attend meetings with internal and/or external agencies and individuals as part of the Individual Support Plan. Performs general housekeeping and classroom duties for children aged 0-12 years (e.g. meal/snack preparation, toileting, diapering, dressing, etc).

Health assessment and up-to-date record of immunization as outlined by legislation. Up-to-date certification in CPR-C and Standard First Aid (training provided upon selection if required). Basic understanding of special needs and knowledge of the developmental needs of children and demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge.

Have the physical and emotional stamina to effectively supervise children in a variety of settings including outdoor public spaces.
