Weldmatic Automation

Mississauga

About the Role

We are a start-up company that builds robotic welding, laser welding and custom automation equipment. Days are busy, responsibilities are broad, and everyone helps get the job done. If you take ownership of your work, look for the next task without being told, and want to grow with a company, this role can lead to much more than a traditional fabrication job.

This is not an entry-level position. We need someone who can fit and weld on their own from day one, and who wants to keep learning.

What You'll Do

- Client proof-of-concept welding: fit, fixture and test weld client work pieces to prove out welding processes and automation solutions
- In-house fabrication: fit and weld frames, fixtures, guarding and machine components for customer builds, test setups and internal shop needs
- Manual MIG welding, with hands-on exposure to laser and robotic welding
- Cut, grind and prepare material with a band saw, plasma cutter, torch, magnetic drill and grinders
- Electrical wiring and assembly on machines and test setups, working from schematics supplied by our engineers and vendors (training provided)
- Help with custom machine builds, integration and commissioning
- Operate a forklift; handle shipping, receiving, loading and unloading
- Keep the shop, tools and equipment clean, organized and in good working order
- Take an active part in Weldmatic's safety program. Follow protected work practices every day and speak up when something isn't secure.
- In office installs and repairs of existing systems

Requirements

- 2+ years of hands-on fit and weld experience in a fabrication or manufacturing shop
- MIG welding experience (required)
- Able to work from shop drawings and fit parts accurately with little supervision
- Electrical wiring experience, or a real willingness to be trained to wire from schematics
- Organized, with a sense of ownership. You treat the shop, tools and equipment as if they were your own. You put things back,

report and fix problems, and take responsibility for your equipment and the task at hand.
- Safety-first mindset. You follow procedures, wear your PPE, keep your work area safe and look out for your coworkers.
- Team player. You communicate clearly, help others without being asked and take pride in the team's results.
- Go-getter attitude. You take initiative, stay busy, finish what you start and own your work.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, start-up environment where priorities can change and one day may cover several tasks
- Eager to learn new technology and processes, and curious about how the machines we build work
- Reliable, punctual and accountable
- Able to lift materials and work in a physically active environment

Preferred

- Laser welding experience (strongly preferred)
- TIG welding experience
- Forklift license. If you don't have one, you can get licensed through the company.
- Experience reading electrical schematics or wiring control panels
- Experience with robotic welding or automation equipment

Why Join Weldmatic

We invest in people who invest in their work. As we grow, team members who show initiative and a strong work ethic will get hands-on exposure to:

- Robotic welding systems
