Job Summary
We are seeking a energetic and experienced Bricklayer Lead Hand to help oversee and coordinate masonry projects on-site. This role involves helping lead a small team of bricklayers and apprentices, ensuring that all construction, restoration, and renovation tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will possess solid leadership skills, high masonry expertise, and a passion for delivering quality craftsmanship.
As a key team member, you will play a vital role in managing daily operations, interpreting blueprints and schematics, and maintaining safety protocols to ensure successful project completion.
Duties
- Lead and supervise a team of bricklayers and apprentices, assigning tasks and monitoring progress to meet project deadlines.
- Read and interpret construction blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute masonry work.
- Prepare work sites by setting up scaffolding, mixing mortar, and organizing materials using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment.
- Perform skilled masonry tasks including laying bricks, blocks, stonework, and restoring historic structures with precision.
- Oversee the use of construction tools such as trowels, chisels, drills, saws, and caulking guns to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Coordinate with project managers to plan daily activities, order materials, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Conduct quality control inspections throughout projects to maintain high standards of craftsmanship and durability.
- Assist in troubleshooting construction issues by reading schematics and adapting techniques accordingly.
- Support renovation projects by restoring existing structures while maintaining architectural integrity.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction with a focus on masonry or bricklaying; prior leadership roles are highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of hand tools, power toolsv and safety procedures on construction sites.
- Experience in brick,cmu, stone, restoration, chimneys
- Ability to work effectively in physically demanding environments while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and customers.
