Junior Piping Designer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Work under the guidance of senior designers and engineers to develop technical competency in piping design, modeling, and drawing production.
- Assist in interpreting and applying P&IDs; to develop accurate designs and ensure alignment with process and mechanical requirements.
- Generate isometrics, equipment layouts, and simple design drawings in accordance with project specifications and Tri standards.
- Apply process data (e.g., line sizes, elevations, pressures, temperatures) to piping designs and revisions.




- Support design reviews and collaborate with instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, and civil disciplines to resolve clashes and improve layouts.
- Assist with incorporating field changes, redlines, and as-built updates into the model and drawings.
- Develop an understanding of piping design principles, company standards, and industry practices through mentorship and hands-on project work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 1-4 years experience as a drafter
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Familiarity with Plant 3D, and Navisworks is an asset.
- Diploma or Certificate in drafting or engineering technology from an accredited secondary institution
- Must have strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines

- Communicate effectively with team members to clarify markups, resolve design questions, and support coordination efforts
