Organizational context: The Safety & Security and General Services (SSG) Section is responsible for the overall coordination and management of security & safety of premises, building and facilities management, rental of office space, travel services, commissariat operations, property control and logistics services including inventory, storage and supply, and business continuity and organizational resilience management. The post of Construction and Facilities Management Associate operationally reports to the Senior Construction and Facilities Management Associate (SCFMA) within the General Services and Facilities Management (GFM) Unit of SSG Section.
Job purpose: Provides operational support to ensure the implementation of projects within the General Services and Facilities Management (GFM) Unit. Supports the review and completion of project documents and contributes to the coordination and monitoring of tasks related to GFM activities.
Responsibilities: Provides operational support for project implementation, including reviewing requirements, drafting correspondence, and coordinating with stakeholders. Supports the review and completion of project documents, organizes documentation, and provides technical support. Monitors project tracking systems, prepares reports, and reviews correspondence.
Assists in coordinating the acceptance and installation of donated works of art,
artefacts, and furnishings. Monitors electronic document filing, including Auto-CAD files. Assists in preparing functional and technical specifications for furniture, reviews supplier documentation, and processes requisitions.
Participates in coordination meetings for Headquarters projects, providing technical input and developing implementation plans.
Education: Essential: High school diploma or equivalent. A Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in architecture or equivalent.
Desirable: Additional training or certification in the field of construction.
Work experience: Essential: A minimum of six (6) years of experience in interior/exterior construction and maintenance works.
Experience in applying procurement rules and regulations.
Experience in space planning and interpreting Architectural, Electrical, and Mechanical plans (DWG) is mandatory. Skilled experience in AutoCAD for producing architectural plans for construction.
Experience in troubleshooting in real-time scenarios.
Desirable: Experience in supervising and coordinating others.
Experience in computer and electronic instrumentation.
