Overview

Keystone is hiring dependable Snow Removal Crew Members for the upcoming winter season. Our crews keep driveways, sidewalks, walkways, and front steps clear and safe for residential clients throughout the winter, and we're building a team of reliable, hardworking people who take pride in doing the job right.

This position offers something most seasonal snow jobs don't: a guaranteed $1,000 per month, whether it snows or not. When it does snow, you earn $30 per hour for every hour worked. If your hourly earnings add up to more than $1,000 in a month, you're paid the higher amount. In other words, you're paid well when it's busy and still paid when it's quiet.

The work is hand shoveling and operating small snowblowers at residential properties. Shifts typically run 8 to 10 hours depending on snowfall, and company vehicles are provided to transport the crew between job sites during working hours. You'll need your own vehicle and a valid driver's licence to get to our shop when called.

This position is ideal for people who do delivery, rideshare, or other flexible work. Between storms your time is your own, and you have a guaranteed $1,000 a month added to your income all winter.

Compensation and Schedule

- Guaranteed minimum of $1,000 per month from November 15 to April 15
- $30 per hour for all hours worked
- If your hourly earnings exceed $1,000 in a month, you're paid the higher amount
- Crew members must be ready to work starting November 1 in case of early snowfall
- Early-season callouts between November 1 and 15 are paid at the $30 hourly rate
- Shifts typically run 8 to 10 hours, depending on snowfall and conditions
- Callouts can happen at any hour, including overnight and early morning

Responsibilities

- Hand-shovel driveways, sidewalks, walkways, and front steps to a clean, safe, and professional standard




- Operate small snowblowers safely and efficiently to clear residential driveways and walkways
- Respond promptly to callouts at any hour of the day or night during and after snowfalls
- Report to the shop on time when called, then travel to job sites with the crew in company vehicles
- Complete assigned routes efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality at every home
- Work 8 to 10 hour shifts in cold, windy, and changing winter conditions
- Identify and report hazards, property damage, or equipment issues to your supervisor right away
- Treat clients' homes and property with care and respect, and represent Keystone professionally at all times
- Keep shovels, snowblowers, and company vehicles clean, organized, and ready for the next callout
- Follow all safety procedures and supervisor instructions on every job

Experience and Qualifications

- Previous snow removal experience is strongly preferred. Experience with residential snow clearing, hand shoveling, snowblower operation, or working on a snow removal crew will be a major asset.
- Experience in other physically demanding outdoor work, such as landscaping, construction, or general labour, will also be considered
- Comfortable operating small snowblowers, or willing to learn
- Reliability is the most important qualification for this role. Our clients depend on us to have their homes cleared on time, and we depend on every crew member to answer their phone and show up every time they're called.
- Must be available on call 24/7 from November 1 through April 15




- Valid driver's licence and your own reliable vehicle to get to the shop when called
- Good physical fitness and the stamina to work long shifts in cold weather
- Ability to work well as part of a crew, follow instructions, and work independently when needed
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Dresses appropriately for extreme cold and comes prepared for long shifts outdoors

Leadership Opportunity Keystone is also looking for candidates with previous supervisory or managerial experience in snow removal, landscaping, or a related field. For the right person, there is an chance to take on a crew lead or managerial role, with pay and vehicle arrangements to be discussed.
