Role Description The Data Governance, Knowledge and Information Management Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Southend, SK. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining data governance frameworks, policies, and standards across South Essex Homes. Day-to-day tasks include overseeing data quality processes, managing data definitions and metadata, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal controls.

The role also involves coordinating data and information management initiatives, supporting knowledge sharing across teams, and enabling analytics-driven insight for operational and strategic decision making. The Lead will collaborate with IT, service managers,



and senior leadership to align data practices with business objectives and drive a culture of responsible data use.

Qualifications

- Robust data analytics and data analysis skills, with the ability to translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Experience in data management and data governance, including data quality, metadata management, and stewardship practices.
- Knowledge of data modeling and data architecture concepts to support reporting, BI, and system integration.
- Demonstrated analytical skills, including problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Experience implementing information management or knowledge management frameworks in an organizational setting.
- Familiarity with relevant data protection, information security, and regulatory requirements (e.g., UK GDPR).
- Proficiency with data and reporting tools (such as Excel, SQL, BI platforms, or similar technologies).
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience in housing, local government, or public sector organizations is an advantage.
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in data management, information management, IT, or a related field is desirable.
