Position
Position: Early Childhood Educator / Daycare Educator
Location: Calgary, Alberta

ECE Certification Applicants who work in a licensed child-care program in Alberta are required to obtain Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certification. Alberta recognizes three certification levels:
- Level 1 ECE: Includes approved introductory early learning and child-care education, such as the Alberta Early Childhood Education Orientation Course or qualifying coursework.
- Level 2 ECE: Generally requires completion of an approved one-year early learning and child-care certificate.
- Level 3 ECE: Generally requires completion of an approved two-year early learning and child-care diploma.
Staff must be certified within six months of police check. If you are currently studying Early Learning and Child Care or are working toward your ECE certification, please let us know when applying.
Qualifications
Preference may be given to candidates who have:
- Alberta ECE certification
- Child Care First Aid certification
- Experience working with young children for 2 years.
- Knowledge of play-based learning and child development
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A positive and professional attitude
- Experience working in a multicultural environment
Main Responsibilities The successful educator will:
- Provide responsive and nurturing care to children
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities
- Support children's learning through play and exploration
- Observe and document children's development
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment
- Follow health, safety, and child-care regulations
- Communicate with families regarding children's daily experiences
- Work cooperatively with other educators and management
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development
- Support Wonderland Academy's philosophy and policies
