About the Role
Corus Entertainment is seeking a creative, audience-focused National Content Creator for a 12-month temporary full-time contract to develop compelling digital content that engages and grows audiences across Canada.
The successful candidate is a strong storyteller with a passion for creating engaging video, written, and social content that resonates across multiple platforms. Reporting to the Director, Digital/Sales Integrations, Global News & Audio, you will work closely with teams across Audio,News, Promotions, and Digital to identify content opportunities, create platform-specific stories from concept to completion, and help drive audience engagement across web, social, and video channels.

You will contribute by:
Content Creation
- Develop and produce engaging video, written, and social content for Corus digital properties.
- Shoot, edit, and publish both short-form and long-form video content.
- Create story concepts, scripts, headlines,
articles, and social copies.
- Produce content optimized for a variety of platforms, including websites, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and emerging channels.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support national campaigns, promotions, and content initiatives.
Social Media Management
- Manage and publish content across multiple social platforms.
- Adapt content to align with platform best practices and audience behaviours.
- Monitor audience engagement and emerging trends to inform content strategy.
- Help grow audience reach, engagement, and brand awareness through innovative social storytelling.
Analytics & Reporting
- Monitor content performance using analytics and reporting tools.
- Track audience and engagement metrics.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve content performance and audience growth.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support special projects, events, and strategic content initiatives.
- Assist with cross-promotional opportunities across digital, social, audio, and broadcast platforms.
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging platforms, and evolving audience behaviours.
Skills and experience you will bring:
- Diploma or degree in Journalism, Broadcast Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related discipline.
- 2-5 years of experience in digital content creation, social media, multimedia journalism, or a related field.
- Proven experience shooting, editing, and publishing video content for digital platforms.
- Strong writing skills with experience creating articles, scripts, headlines, and social content.
- Demonstrated ability to create content that drives audience engagement and growth.
- Experience with video production and editing software.
- Knowledge of YouTube channel management and optimization.
- Experience working with content management systems, including WordPress.
- Familiarity with social publishing, monitoring, and analytics tools.
- Understanding of digital audience development and content optimization strategies.
- Strong storytelling instincts and a passion for creating engaging content.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- A collaborative team player who can also work independently.
- Passion for digital media, music, entertainment, culture, and emerging social trends.
