We are looking for a collaborative, curious leader who turns complex challenges into secure, scalable solutions and helps teams learn, adapt and deliver meaningful outcomes. If you are a creative problem solver who values continuous learning, inclusive teamwork and measurable customer impact, we want to hear from you.
The Director, Technical Solutions leads the end-to-end technical delivery of mission-critical Workplace Benefits initiatives—from discovery and solution design through launch and transition to operations. This role translates business strategy into secure, scalable solutions that improve customer outcomes, enable growth and advance modernization, including AI-enabled capabilities. You will align cross-functional teams, make clear technical trade-offs and create the conditions for predictable, high-quality delivery.
Own the technical roadmap and end-to-end delivery of complex initiatives, from discovery and architecture through implementation and transition to operations. Translate business objectives into secure, scalable solutions that improve customer outcomes, enable growth and reduce friction. Lead cross-functional teams across architecture, engineering, integration, security and operations, providing clear direction and accountability.
Make and communicate informed trade-offs across scope, cost, risk, quality and delivery timelines. Identify and mitigate technical, security, performance, compliance and operational risks. Ensure solutions are ready for launch and ongoing operation, including testing, support,
warranty, security and lifecycle planning.
Ensure delivery aligns with approved architecture patterns, engineering standards, security controls and regulatory requirements. Partner with business, PMO, architecture, security, risk, operations and vendors to develop estimates, manage dependencies and enable predictable delivery. Advance automation, AI-enabled delivery and engineering practices that improve speed, quality, reliability and maintainability.
Manage people and financial resources responsibly while building trusted relationships across internal and external partners. A post-secondary degree or diploma in business, computer science or a related field—or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong business and systems thinking, with the ability to connect technical decisions to customer and business outcomes.
Working knowledge of contemporary engineering practices, including automated testing, deployment automation and secure software delivery. Outcome-driven and pragmatic with a bias for action, balancing speed, risk, quality and long-term sustainability. Clear, influential communication and a track record of building collaborative relationships across business,
technology and vendor partners.
Experience coaching technical practitioners and building accountable, inclusive teams. Practical experience using AI to improve customer, business or delivery outcomes. Knowledge of mainframe technologies, financial services or the Canadian health insurance industry.
