Summary The EHS Technician supports workplace health, safety, and environmental activities across the facility. The role assists with safety programs, employee training, inspections, compliance records, document control, and general operational support to help maintain a protected, organized, and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support department leads with site-level health, safety, environmental, and operational priorities.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of workplace safety and compliance programs.
- Help support initiatives related to safety, quality, productivity, housekeeping, asset management, customer service, and employee development.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to improve processes, reduce delays, and strengthen day-to-day operations.
- Help promote a workplace culture centered on safety, accountability, compliance, and operational performance.
- Provide day-to-day support to operations and maintenance teams as required.
- Assist with employee safety training, workplace inspections, records management, and document control.
- Maintain accurate health and safety documentation, reports, and compliance records.
- Support hazard identification, internal safety reviews, corrective actions, and related follow-up.
- Work across departments to encourage safe work practices and consistent compliance with established procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education or training in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
- A technical diploma, college credential, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent relevant experience is considered an asset.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in EHS, occupational health and safety, safety compliance, or a similar workplace safety role.
- Familiarity with occupational health and safety programs, environmental requirements, industrial hygiene, workplace medical programs, regulatory compliance, and risk management is preferred.
- EHS certifications or additional health and safety training are considered a strong asset.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and recordkeeping abilities.
- Comfortable supporting workplace inspections, training, compliance tracking, and safety documentation.
- Able to work effectively across multiple departments while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Practical and detail-oriented, with the ability to support both administrative responsibilities and hands-on operational activities.
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
