Maria’s Tortas Jalisco – Stoney Creek, ON

Maria’s Tortas Jalisco is looking for an experienced Prep Cook / Line Cook to join our busy kitchen team.

We are a family-owned Mexican restaurant serving authentic, homemade Mexican food. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen and already has hands-on restaurant kitchen experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Preparing ingredients for daily service, including meats, vegetables, sauces and other prep
- Working on the line during service
- Cooking and assembling menu items accurately and efficiently
- Following recipes, portion sizes and food-quality standards
- Keeping your station clean, organized and properly stocked
- Following food-safety, sanitation and safe food-handling procedures
- Assisting with opening, closing and general kitchen duties
- Working closely with the kitchen team during busy service periods

What We’re Looking For
- Previous restaurant kitchen experience is required
- Experience with both food preparation and line cooking
- Comfortable using knives and standard commercial kitchen equipment
- Able to work efficiently under pressure in a busy environment
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team




- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization and food quality
- Able to follow recipes and instructions consistently
- Experience with Mexican or Latin cuisine is an asset, but not required
- Spanish is an asset, but not required
- Food Handler/Food Safety certification

Position Full-time / Part-time opportunities available

Minimum approximately 25 hours per week, with additional hours depending on availability and business needs.

Must be available for a combination of daytime prep, evening and weekend shifts.

Compensation

Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
