No Sugar

Mississauga

The No Sugar Company is a fast-growing consumer packaged goods company focused on developing and building innovative health and wellness brands. Our portfolio includes Wellnx Life Sciences and Joyburst, with products sold across Canada, the U.S., and international markets.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Controller to lead our day-to-day finance function, strengthen our financial processes and controls, and provide the financial insight needed to support smart business decisions.

The Opportunity

Reporting to senior leadership, the Controller will be a key member of the leadership team and will oversee financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cash management, financial controls, and the development of our finance team.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can move comfortably between the details and the bigger picture. You’ll ensure the fundamentals are done exceptionally well while helping the business understand what the numbers are telling us and where we need to focus next.

What You’ll Do

Financial Reporting & Management

- Lead the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reporting.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and appropriate controls.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting.
- Develop meaningful financial analysis and reporting that helps leadership understand business performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Analyze financial and operational results, identifying trends and opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency.
- Support business decisions related to pricing, capital investments, contracts, and other strategic initiatives.
- Establish and monitor financial and operational performance measures across the business.
- Partner with senior leadership on financial planning and business strategy.
- Support tax planning, compliance,

and other regulatory requirements in partnership with external advisors.
- Maintain strong relationships with banks, external accountants, auditors, and other financial partners.

Cash Flow & Financial Controls

- Own the company's cash management and cash forecasting processes.
- Prepare weekly cash flow reporting and longer-term cash forecasts across the Wellnx group of companies.
- Maintain oversight of company bank accounts, reconciliations, and banking activities.
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure financial transactions are appropriately authorized, recorded, and monitored.
- Develop and maintain finance policies, procedures, and documentation that support a growing organization.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, reporting, automation, and processes.

Finance Team Leadership

- Lead the finance function, including financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, and related accounting activities.
- Coach, mentor, and develop members of the finance team.
- Build clear roles, accountabilities, and processes within the department as the organization continues to grow.
- Lead regular finance team meetings and ensure priorities, deadlines, and responsibilities are clearly understood.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing finance team.
- Support the recruitment and onboarding of finance talent as required.

Business Partnership & Special Projects

- Act as a trusted financial partner to senior leadership and other areas of the business.
- Translate financial information into practical insights and recommendations.
- Lead and support special projects, process improvements,

and strategic initiatives as the business evolves.

What You Bring

- CPA designation.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
- Progressive accounting and finance experience, including experience in a Controller or senior finance leadership role.
- Solid knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and internal controls.
- Experience leading and developing a finance or accounting team.
- Strong financial analysis skills with the ability to turn data into clear business recommendations.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, growing organization.
- Strong systems skills and an interest in improving and automating financial processes.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both finance and non-finance leaders.
- Strong attention to detail without losing sight of broader business priorities.
- Experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG), manufacturing, distribution, or a related environment is strongly preferred.

Who You Are You’re comfortable in a business that is growing and changing quickly. You don’t need every process to already be perfectly defined. You can identify what needs to be improved, build the right structure, and bring people along with you.

You’re equally comfortable digging into a reconciliation, challenging a forecast, coaching a team member, or sitting with senior leadership to work through the financial implications of a business decision.

Most importantly, you bring sound judgment, accountability, curiosity, and a practical approach to finance.
