NWI Precision specializes in high-precision machining of helicopter masts, turbine shafts, engine thrust links, and nuclear pressure vessel components used in the aerospace and nuclear industries worldwide. NWI Precision’s 120,000 sq. ft. facility is located at 9 Fenmar Drive in Toronto. Our dedicated team pride themselves on delivering the highest quality products, to specifications and on time. NWI Precision is currently seeking a Junior Maintenance Technician.

The Maintenance Technician is a junior role and will support the NWI Maintenance Team. The position is responsible for performing general repairs and maintenance at our facility. This includes all handyman type work in the areas of general plumbing, lighting, painting, repairs to locks and doors, custodial / janitorial maintenance, moving of office furniture, set up of snow removal and targeted landscaping cleanup.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Follow supervisor/managers orders and listen to more senior technicians
- Respond to internal calls requiring assistance from the maintenance team.
- Complete on-going general maintenance and cleanliness of building interior and exterior
- Work with maintenance techs on coolant systems and cleaning machines from coolant, oil and grease
- Provide maintenance services in the area of plumbing, painting, drywall repairs, custodial/janitorial assistance over and above cleaning service provider, window washing
- Complete general yard and property maintenance, over and above grass cutting crew
- Shovel and salt employee entrances and walkways, keeping areas clear and safe
- Enhance your jack of all trades background in an effort to maintain the facility by learning recent skills and tasks on a ongoing basis




- Complete additional projects and responsibilities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

- High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:

- Minimum of 1-year related work experience in a manufacturing environment with machinery. The building is owned by the occupants
- Good safety practices and understanding of company polices
- Basic knowledge of power tools, painting, cleaning, snow cleaning
- Knowledge of various maintenance requirements, skilled in handyman work
- Must have clear drivers’ licenses, picking up of supplies and making deliveries will be required with company vehicle.




- Good understanding in basic electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Walking on the shop for long hours
- Able to lift heavy items up to 30LB
- Able to work under pressure
- A confident self-starter with sound decision-making skills
- Must be thorough and accurate and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
