The Mental Health

Worker provides a variety of housing and shelter services including case planning, programming, assisting with daily physical and emotional supports, responding to overdoses, administering first aid and Naloxone, accepting referrals, registering, orienting, and advocating for clients. We are looking for someone who has a genuine interest in working with clients who are currently vulnerably housed or experiencing homelessness, as well as those who have previously experienced housing vulnerability. This includes experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds who face multiple barriers, such as substance use, mental health concerns, low incomes, and negative impacts of colonialism and racism.

Diploma in a related Social or Human Services field. At least two (2) years of experience working in a related environment or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Direct experience in the community social services sector with a working knowledge of community support agencies and resources is preferred.

Emergency First

Aid with CPR Level C. Successful completion of the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Record Check.

Hourly Wage

Rate (with overnight premium) : $34.02 – $37.52.



An overnight premium of $2.00/hour applies to shifts that go past midnight. SMH – Saturday – 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM SMH – Saturday – 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM OV – Saturday – 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM SMH – Sunday – 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM OV – Saturday – 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM SMH – Sunday – 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Note: The schedule follows a four-week rotation and does not align with specific calendar weeks.

Job Type: Part-Time, Temporary. Employer-paid access to telemedicine services through Sparrow and the Employee and Family Assistance Program, provided by Greenshield Health, is available to employees and their eligible dependents.
