Soos on Ossington is hiring a part-time server for 3 to 4 shifts a week. We are a well-established, 40-seat restaurant offering modern interpretations of Malaysian street food. We are currently open 5 days a week (Wednesday through Sunday) for dinner only. Shifts typically start around 4:00 PM and finish between 10:30 PM and 11:30 PM, depending on the night.

Responsibilities

- Greet guests and assist with seating, menu selection, and special requests.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately.
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness.
- Handle transactions securely and accurately, including cashiering and cash handling procedures.
- Perform standard front-of-house (FOH) cleaning and maintenance to ensure a pristine guest experience.
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of menu offerings, daily specials, and ingredient details to answer guest questions confidently.
- Ensure proper food handling and sanitation practices comply with all health regulations.




- Manage time effectively to serve multiple tables promptly while providing attentive hospitality.
- Collaborate with team members to uphold a positive work setting and seamless guest service.

Qualifications
- Previous food service or restaurant experience preferred; familiarity with Malaysian or Southeast Asian cuisine and ingredients is a strong plus.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic, and professional attitude.
- Experience using POS systems.
- Solid knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques.
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cashiering and order processing.
- Excellent time-management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during peak hours.
- Basic kitchen experience or a general understanding of food preparation is a bonus.
- A genuine hospitality mindset with a focus on guest satisfaction and upselling opportunities.

Pay: $17.95 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
