Position Summary The Licensed Pest Control Technician is responsible for providing professional, safe, and effective pest management services across a large multifamily residential portfolio in Edmonton. This role will identify and treat pest activity, perform preventative inspections, respond to resident concerns, and maintain accurate service records while delivering a high level of customer service.
The successful candidate will work independently across multiple properties while collaborating closely with Property Management and Maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect residential units, common areas, and building exteriors for pest activity and conditions contributing to infestations.
- Perform pest control treatments in accordance with applicable legislation, label requirements, company procedures, and industry best practices.
- Respond to resident pest concerns and provide professional, respectful service.
- Develop and implement appropriate treatment and prevention plans for recurring or complex pest issues.
- Perform follow-up inspections and treatments to ensure effective resolution.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, treatments, products used, and follow-up requirements.
- Identify building conditions or resident practices contributing to pest activity and communicate recommendations to Property Management.
- Coordinate pest control activities with Property Management, Maintenance, and other service providers.
- Maintain pest control equipment, vehicles, supplies, and inventory in safe and operational condition.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, transportation, and disposal of pesticides and related materials.
- Maintain required licenses, certifications, training, and continuing education.
- Support preventative pest management programs across the portfolio.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Current Alberta pest control applicator certification/license appropriate to the work being performed.
- Previous pest control experience; multifamily residential experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of common residential pests, including rodents, bed bugs, cockroaches, ants, and other nuisance pests.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a daily schedule across multiple properties.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to safely handle and apply pesticides and use required PPE.
- Basic computer skills and ability to accurately document work using company software.
- Ability to enter occupied units and interact professionally with residents.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry equipment and supplies.
- Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, bend, kneel, crawl, and work in confined areas as required.
- Ability to safely perform inspections and treatments in residential buildings and mechanical/service areas.
